Rain forecast for Italy

The upcoming situation is related to the Genoese low. It is about a specific atmospheric system - masses of hot and humid air from the Mediterranean meet cold air from the Alps, and this usually happens over the Gulf of Genoa. A phenomenon called the Genoese low occurs. In this situation, long-lasting and intense rains can be expected.

There are forecasts that the rain will be mostly in the northern part of Italy, and it will also affect a large part of Central Europe. If you have planned a vacation to the famous Italian lakes or are still wondering whether to go there, it is worth taking into account the weather alerts.

Tourists will be caught in heavy rain here

The Italian Meteorological Service ( Meteo Aeronautica Militare) has sent alerts for as many as nine Italian regions, and rain may appear at any moment. It has already started in some cities. We will be at risk of heavy rain and storms when vacationing in the Piedmont, Lombardy region, as well as regions such as Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Liguria and Tuscany. We can experience strong electrical discharges, hail and intense wind gusts everywhere.

It is easy to notice that we are talking about places where many popular cities are located, including Genoa, Milan, Trento, Bologna, Florence and others. With the forecasted weather, sightseeing and relaxation can be very difficult or even impossible.
