António Gaio's centenary will be commemorated on Friday

The tribute event, which will take place in the Auditorium of the Espinho Art and Culture Forum (FACE), with free entry, will highlight the career of the honoree, seen as "a remarkable example of active citizenship, who stood out for his dedication to the community, culture and local associations, with civic and political intervention guided by commitment, ethics and collective spirit." The session, moderated by Carolina Letra, from the Nascente board, will feature António Santos, founding partner and former president of the cooperative; David Pontes, director of the Público newspaper; Nunes da Silva, from Aipal (bakery sector); Manuel Henrique Castro, president of the Espinho Academic Association; and Nuno Lacerda, architect and professor at the Porto Faculty of Architecture. António Gaio's contribution to local politics will also be publicly recognized, particularly as a councilor and municipal deputy after April 25, 1974.
The evening's program includes a musical performance by guitarist Paulo Vaz de Carvalho, who will perform a repertoire inspired by the work of Carlos Paredes, whose centenary is also being celebrated.
