Can cities with more sun still get hotter?

As Europe braces for successive heat waves, a new study reveals which cities are likely to feel the heat the most, based on their long-term sunshine records.

Spain, expected to reach 42°C again, dominates the 50 places most exposed to the sun, with 13 cities in the top 50. Palma ranks first overall, with sunshine 93% of the year. Italy and Portugal, also under pressure from heat waves, also have cities on the list.
