Collision in Santa Comba Dão causes two deaths and cuts off IP3

A head-on collision in Santa Comba Dão left two dead and three injured, with traffic on Main Route 3 (IP3), between Viseu and Coimbra, closed in both directions.

The collision between the two vehicles took place in Cabecinha de Rei, in the municipality of Santa Comba Dão, at 08:57, and two victims were trapped.

According to the Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, in addition to the two fatalities, there is one serious injury and two minor injuries to be recorded.

According to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, 28 operators and nine vehicles are involved in the rescue operation.
