On Thursday, August 14, the Left Bloc formally submitted its candidate lists for the 2025 local elections in the municipality of Caldas da Rainha. Under the slogan "Building Caldas," the party aims to present proposals that address the municipality's main challenges.
The candidacy's priorities include housing, mobility, the environment, education, and health as social functions of the State, but also access to culture, labor rights, local democracy, and transparency in governance.
Professor Carlos Ubaldo will be the candidate for City Council, while Rita Nóbrega heads the list for Municipal Assembly. Francisco Matos leads the candidacy for the Assembly of the Union of Parishes of Nossa Senhora do Pópulo, Coto, and São Gregório, and André Rocha leads the list for the Parish Assembly of Santo Onofre and Serra do Bouro.
In a note sent to the editorial team, the Caldense Left Bloc emphasizes that the lists reflect "diversity of ages, experiences, and areas of activity," including independents and activists, "always ensuring gender parity." According to the party, this plurality guarantees "a candidacy rooted in the community and attentive to the reality of the Caldense people."
During the formalization, the BE also highlighted the work of the Parish Councils in the speed and efficiency in issuing the necessary certificates, saluting the workers who ensured the process.
The party reaffirms its commitment to building a collective project that engages citizens. "The people of Caldas have the right to quality responses to the problems that affect them. This is a project built with the participation and voice of everyone, to face the challenges of the present and future with courage and determination," the press release states.
