According to delegate Gustavo de Pinho, they took advantage of the suspect's sleeping time to write four notes, between Friday night (11) and Saturday morning (12), and throw them from the balcony of the apartment where they were being held captive.
A neighbor found one of the papers at the entrance of the building on Saturday morning, notified the building manager and called the Military Police (PM-PR), who rescued the victims and arrested the suspect, Glauber Gandra Severino, on the same day.
One of them read:
"Please help us! My mother and I are being held captive. Help us, because I can't use my cell phone! Tell the building manager! Let the police come and enter through the balcony, without making a fuss!"
The victims told police they knew Glauber because he had a romantic relationship with their cousin. He also lived in the mother and daughter's building in 2023—and therefore had the keys to the entrance.
According to the delegate, he managed to enter the apartment on Thursday (10) after one of the women left to go to the pharmacy, and kept them tied up, in a room, most of the time.
The crime was financially motivated, according to the police officer.
"During the interrogation, he reported that he was experiencing financial difficulties, that he had recently lost his job and decided to engage in such conduct, since he was aware that the victims had greater purchasing power," he said.
The victims say the man forced them to write two checks, and also took their bank cards and passwords to make withdrawals.
As of the last publication of this report, Glauber had not yet formed a defense.

Mother and daughter held in prison are saved after neighbor finds note
When police arrived at the building, they found mother and daughter tied with plastic cable ties. They reported that the suspect had fled by jumping into the neighboring apartment. With the help of another resident, who is also a military police officer, the teams entered the apartment next door and found the suspect, who was arrested.
A video recorded during the police operation shows an officer releasing the victims while one of them nervously explains that she wrote the notes in the early hours of the morning. Watch above.
During the operation, police also seized a backpack containing plastic cable ties, adhesive tape, tools, the cell phone of one of the victims and R$2,700 in cash.
To RPC , a TV Globo affiliate in Paraná, delegate Gustavo de Pinho reported that the suspect underwent a custody hearing and the judge ordered preventive detention.
"Now, the investigations will continue, with the aim of verifying the amount of money he actually took from the victims. He forced them to sign two checks, one for R$8,000 and another for R$50,000, which were not found during the police approach," he concluded.
The Civil Police (PC-PR) continues to investigate the case.
