Municipal Technical Aid Bank inaugurated tomorrow

Municipal Technical Aid Bank inaugurated tomorrow

The inauguration of the Municipal Technical Aid Bank is scheduled for 5 pm at Largo do Areal, in São João de Ver. This “essential initiative” places “solidarity at the service of comfort, autonomy and improved mobility for citizens”.

As part of the programme for the 7th edition of Mosaico Social, it is part of a partnership between the local authority and the Liga dos Amigos do Hospital São Sebastião (LAHSS).

The local government highlights, in a press release, that the new service represents “a concrete response to the needs of those most in need”, guaranteeing the free loan of hospital material and support equipment, namely articulated beds, anti-bedsore mattresses, wheelchairs, walkers and crutches, “for defined periods and assessed on a case-by-case basis, in close coordination with the municipal social network, with management carried out by LAHSS”.

Aimed especially at “people with physical limitations and in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability”, the Bank aims to “ensure that no one is left without the necessary support simply due to a lack of resources”. Requests for support can be made to the Hospital Friends League ( [email protected] ), the Department of Social Development, Health and Housing of the Municipal Council ( [email protected] ), and to the 13 Social Assistance and Monitoring Services operating in the IPSS's of the municipality.

Anyone who has equipment in good condition and no longer uses it can donate it to the Bank
