Paraná Park will have a vertical cable car with a panoramic elevator in Furna
The attraction will allow visitors to descend into the vertical cavern for approximately 54 meters and walk along a floating deck that sits over the lake at the bottom of the cavern.
The structure already exists and operated between the 1980s and 2000. Learn more below.
It is being revitalized by Soul Vila Velha, the park's concessionaire. Construction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026 .

The investment will be approximately R$13.2 million, paid for by the company.
The project, authorized by the Water and Land Institute (IAT), involves cleaning and protecting the rock walls and removing, revitalizing and replacing the elevator parts and structure.
In addition to restoring a sentimental and historical icon of the park, the elevator's reactivation is expected to boost tourism in the region. Internal research indicates that the attraction could increase visitor numbers by up to 50%; throughout 2024, approximately 70,000 people visited the park.

The panoramic elevator of the vertical cable car at Vila Velha Park was originally installed between 1979 and 1981. It operated for two decades, until the year 2000.
The deactivation occurred due to environmental issues, mainly related to damage caused to the cave's stone walls, which are 450 million years old.
Now, the revitalization is monitored by IAT, the environmental agency of the Paraná government.
"The Furnas elevator's operations were suspended in 2000 due to difficulties in maintaining technical responsibility for its operation, and it has remained idle ever since. This prevented society from visiting a geologically unique environment in terms of diversity, which can now be resumed," says Rafael Andreguetto, IAT's Director of Natural Heritage.
