Samsung to launch triptych foldable smartphone by the end of the year

In January, Samsung talked about the triptych smartphone (with two hinges and three screens) from the Galaxy Z family. Now, without having mentioned the device during yesterday's Unpacked event, product manager TM Roh confirmed to The Korea Times that this smartphone is planned for a launch later this year.
"We're working hard on a triptych smartphone, aiming to launch it later this year. We're focusing on product refinement and usability, but we haven't decided on a name yet. With the product nearly complete, we'll make that decision soon," the executive said, in statements corroborated by an anonymous source to Android Authority .
Rumors are swirling that the new device could be called the Galaxy G Fold, due to its dual-hinge design. Even with a launch scheduled for the coming months, Samsung won't be a pioneer in this type of smartphone, with that distinction going to Huawei, which launched the Mate XT, priced at $2,800.
