Project begins for 100% sanitation coverage in Ílhavo

Project begins for 100% sanitation coverage in Ílhavo

“Today, symbolically, as we begin this project, the completion of which will allow Ílhavo to have 100% sanitation network coverage, we are closing a cycle that began 15 years ago”, stated the president of AdRA.

Joaquim Baptista considered it to be “a symbolic project as it is a consortium between the Municipality of Ílhavo and AdRA, which exemplifies the commitment and deep institutional and operational collaboration that exists between AdRA and the Municipalities”.

The Mayor of Ílhavo highlighted that “it was project by project, investment by investment, that we achieved full coverage of basic sanitation in the Municipality.

“These interventions are fundamental for the development of the territory, and providing localities with these infrastructures is essential for the settlement of the population, therefore, they never represent a cost, but an investment”, he stated.

The new system includes an additional 4.5 kilometers of domestic wastewater collectors, two pumping stations and approximately 900 meters of rainwater network.
