Ten districts under yellow warning due to hot weather

Ten districts in mainland Portugal are under yellow warning this Tuesday and Wednesday due to the forecast of hot weather, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Faro, Vila Real, Setúbal, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre will be under yellow warning between 9:00 am this Tuesday and 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
Due to the hot weather, the IPMA also placed the mountainous lands of Madeira Island under an orange warning from 9:00 am this Tuesday until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, then changing to yellow until 6:00 pm on Thursday.
The south coast of Madeira Island will also be under a yellow warning from 9:00 am this Tuesday until 6:00 pm on Thursday due to persistently high maximum temperatures.
The IPMA also placed the western (Flores and Corvo) and central (Faial, Terceira, S. Jorge, Graciosa and Pico) groups of the Azores under yellow warning but because of the forecast of sometimes heavy rain, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
In the western group, the warning will be in effect until 9:00 am this Tuesday and in the central group until 9:00 pm this Tuesday.
The orange warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a moderate to high risk meteorological situation and the yellow warning when there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
