Anvisa suspends sales of olive oil, sauce and fruit pulp

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) ordered the recall of batches of fruit pulp, preserved mushrooms and garlic sauce from three different brands, as they presented unsatisfactory results in reports issued by public laboratories.

Furthermore, the sale of olive oil of unknown origin and outside established standards was identified, with an order for its seizure and total suspension of sales.

The health measures are included in a resolution published this Monday 7th, in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).

De Marchi brand strawberry fruit pulp had batch 09437-181 (expiration date 11/01/2026) recalled, after inconsistent results in the foreign matter research test, according to the analysis report issued by the Central Public Health Laboratory of Santa Catarina (Lacen/SC).

Also due to an unsatisfactory result regarding the amount of sulfur dioxide above the permitted limit, Anvisa requested the recall of a batch of whole preserved mushrooms, from the Imperador brand, manufactured by Indústria e Comércio Nobre . The batch in question is 241023CHI, with an expiration date of 10/2026. The report was issued by Lacen-DF.

The Qualitá brand garlic sauce, manufactured by Sakura Nakaya Alimentos , also had a batch recalled due to unsatisfactory results in the quantitative sulfur dioxide research test, which is above the permitted limit, according to a report also issued by Lacen-DF. The measure covers batch 29, with an expiration date of 01/2026.

In the case of extra virgin olive oil from the Vale dos Vinhedos brand , Anvisa has determined that it should be completely seized and its commercialization, distribution, manufacturing, import, advertising and use prohibited.

In addition to the product being of unknown origin, according to the agency, the analysis report presented an unsatisfactory result, being in disagreement with the standards established by current legislation in the labeling and physical-chemical tests.

Intralogística Distribuidora Concept, responsible for the product, has its National Registry of Legal Entities (CNPJ) suspended due to inconsistencies in Federal Revenue records.

The report seeks contact with the brands mentioned to obtain a position and include it in the article.
