INEM helicopters to cost 42 thousand euros per day until 2030
The contract for four medical emergency helicopters has a cost of 77.47 million euros for 1826 days, “Correio da Manhã” reported this Tuesday.
Helicopters in service with INEM will cost more than 42 thousand euros per day until June 30, 2030, reports this Tuesday's edition of “Correio da Manhã”.
The contract for four medical emergency helicopters, which was due to run from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2030 – but which is not being fulfilled by the company Gulf Med – has a cost of 77.47 million euros for 1826 days.
However, according to “Correio da Manhã”, the helicopters should already be in service with INEM, but only two are available – in Loulé and Macedo de Cavaleiros, neither under the terms of the contract. INEM is paying, by direct agreement, for the use of the two aircraft to Gulf Med.
Only one Air Force helicopter is able to fly at night – and it has to carry out missions all over the country.
