Japan considers the upcoming telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to be important. This was stated by Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi, TASS reports.
According to the official, the country's authorities are monitoring the situation.
Earlier it became known that the leaders of the USA, Great Britain , Germany , France and Italy spoke before the conversation between the two politicians.
On May 17, Trump announced that he planned to talk to Putin by phone. He specified that he planned to discuss with his Russian counterpart, in particular, ending the Ukrainian conflict. The politicians' conversation should take place on May 19, the head of the White House added.
