Kazakhstan to restrict movement of heavy vehicles: what drivers need to know

The statement is addressed to road users. It talks about the introduction of a temporary restriction on the movement of vehicles with a single axle load of over 8 tons in the spring of 2025.
This restriction is aimed at preserving the republican roads after the winter season and will be in effect from March 1 to April 1, 2025 in eight regions belonging to the fifth road-climatic zone:
- Almaty region;
- Atyrau region;
- Zhambyl region;
- Ulytau region;
- Kyzylorda region;
- Mangistau region;
- Zhetysu region;
- Turkestan region.
However, the restriction does not apply to the following types of vehicles:
- international freight and passenger transportation;
- transport involved in the elimination and prevention of emergency situations;
- transportation of humanitarian aid, medicines, food, passengers and baggage;
- transport used for road construction work.
