The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump showed that two consultative and negotiating groups have been formed to resolve the situation in Ukraine . This was stated by Senator Konstantin Kosachev on the Telegram channel.

The first group, Russian-American, discusses the prospects for achieving peace. The second group, Ukrainian-European, is focused on the possibility of continuing the war and pulling Trump into their group.

"Trump was the first to understand that Russia is the same subject of international relations as everyone else. I hope he also understands that Ukraine has been turned into an object, a project, and a tool. Thus, destroying peace in Europe with the risk of the conflict escalating into a global one," the senator wrote.

Neither Russia nor the United States needs the conflict to become global in scale, which has become a unifying factor for the two countries and their driving force.

Putin and Trump spoke by phone on May 19. Their conversation lasted two hours, Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov called it meaningful, businesslike and very useful. Putin and Trump agreed to continue the dialogue in the future on all issues that were raised during their conversation.
