The Ministry of Economic Development is ready to support the decision to resume direct flights between Russia and the United States of America.

However, the department has not yet received any official proposals, Nikita Kondratyev, head of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development, said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"There have been no official proposals to the Ministry of Economic Development. If the corresponding political decisions are made and such flights are agreed upon, we will only support them. Aeroflot is ready to fly," he told the TASS agency.

The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and special representative of the Russian president for investment and economic cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, previously reported that direct flights between Russia and the United States could resume by the end of 2025.

There have been no direct flights between Russia and the United States since March 2022.

Earlier it became known about the resumption of direct Aeroflot flights from Moscow to Samarkand .
