Kazakh cosmonaut Musabayev dies

Kazakh cosmonaut Talgat Musabayev has passed away. The country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences, the press service of the Kazakh leader reported.
"Talgat Amangeldievich is a hero who conquered space three times and made spacewalks, glorifying our country with his exploits. He dedicated his entire working career to the progress of domestic cosmonautics," Tokayev noted.
Talgat Musabayev was born on January 7, 1951. He is a People's Hero of Kazakhstan and Hero of the Russian Federation. He made three space flights. The total duration of his stay in space was 341 days, 9 hours, 48 minutes, 41 seconds.
Musabayev was repeatedly part of the backup crews of the Soyuz TM spacecraft, and was also the commander of the first Russian expedition to visit the ISS in 2001.
