'Gaza Photo Exhibition' witnessed emotional moments

The "Gaza Photography Exhibition," featuring images documenting Israel's crimes against humanity in Gaza, opened in Pendik to a large turnout. The exhibition, held in memory of martyred journalist Mariam Riyad Abu Dagga, was the scene of emotional moments. The opening ceremony, held at the Atatürk Cultural Center on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM, was attended by numerous citizens, civil society representatives, and art lovers. The photographs depicting the human tragedy unfolding in Gaza touched the hearts of visitors. Held in memory of the brave journalists martyred while trying to bring the truth to the world in the midst of war, the exhibition revealed the suffering, devastation, and resistance experienced by the Palestinian people through compelling photographs. Each image reminded us once again of the difficult times endured by civilians in Gaza and the moments engraved in the conscience of humanity. Pendik Mayor Ahmet Cin, Pendik District Governor Mehmet Yıldız, and numerous citizens attended the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, the exhibition, which will remain open until Sunday, October 12, 2025, will host neighbors from Pendik for three days. "There are no buildings or streets left in Gaza; everything has been razed to the ground."

Harun Duran, who attended the exhibition, said, "I thank the Pendik Municipality for bringing us such a meaningful exhibition. May God have mercy on her; our photojournalist sister Meryem was martyred. The images captured by her lens strikingly reveal the human tragedy unfolding in Gaza. The moments in the photographs are heartbreaking; our religious brothers and sisters are facing a great test in Palestine, in Gaza. Not a single building remains, not a single road; everything is in ruins. Children, innocent people are struggling with hunger and poverty. Our hearts are filled with tears. All we can do is pray and keep this pain in the spotlight. May the Ummah of Muhammad be united, and this oppression will end. May the ceasefire agreement signed yesterday be long-lasting, and may we continue to stand with our Palestinian brothers and sisters."
