Three police officers killed in shooting attack in US

Three police officers were killed and two were seriously injured in a shooting in York County, Pennsylvania.

Authorities said the incident occurred when police officers who had gone to a rural area to follow up on an investigation were shot at.

Authorities stated that the attacker was shot and neutralized by police, and that the two injured police officers were receiving treatment at a nearby hospital and were in critical condition.

It was reported that Federal Bureau of Investigation officers were at the scene supporting local law enforcement.
