The 3rd Children's Literature Novel Competition begins

Applications are now open for the Sadık Uygun 3rd Children's Literature Novel Competition. Launched on the 100th anniversary of the Republic and held for the third time this year, the competition aims to raise children's voices through literature.
This year's theme is humor. Humor, a tool throughout history for questioning authority and liberation, is a topic of interest, and it's a fascinating topic to see how it will find its place in novels for children aged 8-12.
The competition aims to honor the memory of educator and publisher Sadık Uygun, known for his lifelong support of education and children. All proceeds from the competition will be donated to scholarships for children struggling to maintain their education.
Applications will be accepted until February 14, 2026. The works will be evaluated by a selection committee comprised of writers, academics, actors, psychologists, and educators. The committee includes Buket Uzuner, Deniz Yüce Başarır, Gonca Vuslateri, Hatice Aslan, Pınar Sabancı, and Prof. Dr. Sedat Sever.
The aim of the competition is not only to bring in new novels, but also to make the unseen and unheard voices of children heard through literature.
Detailed information about the competition is available at www.sadikuygun.com.tr.
