10,000 children graduated from Summer Sports Schools in Kağıthane

Kağıthane Municipality Summer Sports Schools, as in previous years, introduced thousands of children to sports. Certificates and medals were presented at the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Sports Schools, where more than 10,000 children received free education in 23 different branches. The enthusiastic ceremony at Hasbahçe Stadium was attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Ünal Kılıçarslan, Kağıthane District Governor Yüksel Kara, Kağıthane District Director of National Education Mustafa Hoşyiğit, Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin, AK Party Kağıthane District Chairman Erkan Yıldırım, as well as a large number of children and their families. The program, which began with a short film showing activities carried out in Kağıthane, continued with a moment of silence, the singing of the National Anthem, and a student cortege. During the cortege, students saluted officials and parents with flags in hand.

"Currently, five new schools are being built in Kağıthane"

Speaking at the program, Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin said, "We've completed another productive Summer Sports School this year. Thousands of our students met weekly for activities across 22 different disciplines. We thank the parents for making the most of their children's summer vacation. Our young people received training in many disciplines. Tens of thousands of students in Kağıthane participate in Summer Sports Schools every year. We organize sports schools in the winter when schools reopen. Our parents also participate in sports activities in many disciplines. May the new academic year be blessed and I wish them success. We want all our schools in Kağıthane to switch to single-use education. We have completed our work on this. Five new schools are currently being built in Kağıthane. These schools are being built to withstand earthquakes. Each of our schools will continue to operate in single-use education in the coming term."

Following his remarks, President Öztekin chatted with the children and wished them success for the upcoming academic year. He also noted that the activities they organized ensured the children had both fun and learning during their summer vacation.

Roşat Savcı, who stated that he had a great time in the branch he participated in, said, "I play football. I recommend it to everyone. We are having a great time here. We would like to thank our Mayor."

Elif İkra Arslan, who stated that she plays basketball, said, "I play basketball. Basketball is very nice. We thank our president. Our coaches are very good. We are having a great time."

The program concluded with the presentation of medals and certificates.
