Byron pool fixed, to reopen right in time for sunny Canada Day

Sunshine and high temperatures are in the forecast for Canada Day, and also some good news for Londoners who use the Byron pool, which is reopening Tuesday after a week-long shutdown due to a mechanical issue.
Severe weather in late June caused electrical damage to the outdoor pool's pumping system, forcing the closure of all lessons and public swim sessions.
But the repairs are all finished and the pool will be open July 1, city officials said.
"All of the city's outdoor pools and wading pools are now open seven days a week for the summer," they said in a statement.
"You can join us for aquatic programs, including recreation swim, lane swim, aquafit and parent and tot swim."
Information about current programs and schedules can be found on the City of London's website.
Environment Canada is predicting a high of 26 C on Tuesday, with a chance of showers early in the morning and in the afternoon.
The forecast for the rest of the week looks lovely as well. Expect a mix of sun and cloud and highs around 27 to 29 C on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The city's pools and community centres are open for Canada Day and have a lot of free programming. The link is available here: london.ca/CanadaDayRec
