Monster Season 3 Will Star Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein

Fans of true crime and Ryan Murphy, heads up: Not only has Netflix renewed Monster for a third season, but its co-creator has already chosen its next criminal and a release date is set for October 3.
At a promotional event for season 2 back in September 2024, Murphy announced the third season, formally titled Monster: The Ed Gein Story, will star Charlie Hunnam as real-life murderer Ed Gein. The show will premiere on Netflix on October 3, just in time for Halloween.
Throughout the 1950s, Gein morbidly turned his victims' bones into trinkets. The grisliness of his crimes turned Gein into a household name, after police learned that he’d exhumed bodies from local cemeteries and reportedly targeted the graves of women who resembled his mother, Augusta. After he was caught, he confessed to killing two women, Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden, and was declared legally insane. The high profile of Ed Gein's crimes served as the inspiration for several landmark horror movies, including Psycho, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs.
After a year in development and production, Netflix finally peeled back the curtain on the upcoming third season with the announcement of an October 3 premiere date, as well as some first-look photos of Hunnam as Ed Gein available only on Tudum.
Tudum also unveiled the full cast list of Monster: The Ed Gein Story. Alongside Hunnam as Ed Gein, the series will star the following:
