A violent crash occurred at the Formula 2 race in Spielberg, Austria, on Saturday. The car of Frenchman Sami Meguetounif overturned and flew over two other cars. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Shortly after the start, Meguetounif collided with Arvid Lindblad's Red Bull car. The 21-year-old Frenchman was forced to the edge of the track onto a curb, and their wheels touched. Meguetounif's car then lifted off the track and rolled over Lindblad's car. The Briton was protected by the halo, a protective bar above the driver's head.

Meguetounif continued to roll uncontrollably, flipped over Luke Browning's car and landed upside down on the track.
"I'm okay," Meguetounif reported over the radio. The Halo likely saved his life. The safety bar was only introduced a few years ago.
The race was immediately stopped and the wreckage was recovered. All drivers involved remained uninjured. The restart later took place behind the safety car.
