Agri-food: more than US$528 million in business intentions

The business rounds of the Agroalimentaria 2025 fair concluded with purchasing intentions exceeding $528.6 million, according to figures detailed by the Dominican Republic's Export and Investment Center ( ProDominicana ).

The figure represents a 28.9% increase over the previous edition, making this the largest and most successful to date, according to the organization.

During the event, organized by ProDominicana and the Dominican Agribusiness Board ( JAD ), more than 200 international buyers from 33 countries met with local exporters.

Aruba was the country with the highest business intentions (98.6 million dollars), followed by the United States (63.3 million), Puerto Rico (60.3 million), Antigua and Barbuda (43.6 million), Spain (33.6 million), Cuba (31.7 million), the Netherlands (28.6 million) and Guadeloupe (26.9 million).

Among the most popular products at the fair are:
  1. Fruits with 236.2 million dollars

  2. Vegetables with 94.9 million dollars

  3. Eggs and dairy products with 34.1 million dollars

  4. Tobacco and substitutes for 28.3 million dollars

  5. Coffee with 25.4 million dollars

  6. Legume and vegetable preparations with 21.8 million dollars

  7. Cocoa and its derivatives for 16 million dollars

  8. Beverages with 15.5 million dollars

  9. Fats and oils for $13.6 million

360 participating companies

Osmar Benítez , executive president of JAD , highlighted the participation of more than 160 national and 200 international companies, as well as the presence of more than 300 products, from fresh and processed foods to spices, cigars, and, for the first time, poultry products such as eggs.

Benítez praised the fair's consolidation as a space for dialogue between producers , exporters, investors, and international partners, while ProDominicana 's executive director, Biviana Riveiro Disla, emphasized that the partnership with JAD has strengthened the connection between domestic supply and global demand.

Riveiro noted that this initiative is part of the National Export Promotion Plan , implemented by the government since 2020.
