AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 Series: High-performance computing on HEDT platforms

AMD announced the expansion of its high-performance processor offering with the Ryzen Threadripper 9000 Series, aimed at high-end desktop (HEDT) platforms.
This series is aimed at advanced users who require workstation-like power on their own computers, such as content creators, designers, developers, and data scientists.
The most notable models include up to 64 cores and 128 threads, boost frequencies up to 5.4 GHz, and an architecture that can handle intensive workloads such as code compilation, high-resolution video editing, scientific simulations, and training artificial intelligence models directly from the computer, without having to send data to the cloud.

The series includes models such as the Threadripper 9980X, 9970X, and 9960X, with different cache configurations and base frequencies. All of them feature a TDP of 350W and support for PCIe 5.0, allowing for a high degree of scalability.
DIY Ryzen Threadripper 9000 Series processors and HEDT desktop systems are scheduled to be available in July 2025, with distribution through retailers and dedicated assemblers.
