Germany: 20-year-old Syrian attacks train passengers with an axe, injuring four
New scene of violence on German transport: A 20-year-old Syrian injured four passengers on a train between Hamburg and Vienna on Thursday, before being overpowered and arrested .
On Thursday afternoon, a young man armed with an axe and a hammer attacked several passengers aboard a high-speed train from Hamburg to Vienna, causing panic before being subdued. Four people were slightly injured.
The attack occurred around 1:55 p.m. as the InterCity Express (ICE) was traveling through Bavaria. The assailant was reportedly overpowered by passengers, one of whom managed to disarm him and turn one of the weapons on himself, seriously injuring the attacker.
