Yesterday was a lively morning in via Sant'Alessandro , where residents took to the streets to protest against the fines being issued for those who leave their cars parked during the hours when street sweeping is prohibited. Gathered around the municipal councilor of Fratelli d'Italia Andrea Arbizzoni, and the representative of FdI Salvatore Russo, the citizens, with fines in hand, denounced how in the neighborhood it is a challenge to find alternative places during street cleaning hours (from 6 to 9 on Wednesdays and Saturdays).

"This timetable makes it difficult to move cars - comments Fabrizio Benati - the previous time slot, 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., was much better. This has led to a boom in fines. There are other reasons for discontent - he continues -. The decision to create such a large dog area in via Sant'Alessandro, without even leaving a space for new parking, is penalizing us. At least half of the area could be used for parking, recovering 90 new spaces. Even the no longer used vegetable garden area in via Donatori di sangue could be used for parking".

There is no shortage of those who suggest alternative solutions. "If we could resolve the dispute with the private road that continues via Gentili, we could recover another 30-40 spaces", observes Michele Russo. "There is no parking, I lose up to an hour to find one in the evening - Alessandro Carioti adds -. We are an abandoned neighborhood".

Also rushing to the scene were majority councilor Pietro Zonca and the councilor for urban hygiene, Viviana Guidetti, who listened to the citizens' complaints and assured that from July (and perhaps even earlier) the street sweeping hours will be changed, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 12:30 to 15:30.
