Revenue Agency announces competitive exam for 2,700 tax officials: applications due by August 11th.

A new call for applications for young graduates has been published on the Agency's website and on the inPA recruitment portal. The Agency, according to a press release, is ready to hire 2,700 permanent employees for legal and tax activities. These hires are part of a plan to strengthen its structures throughout Italy.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on August 11th via the "inPA" single portal (since the thirtieth day following the announcement's publication, August 10th, is a Sunday). The selection process includes a single written test, which will be conducted according to the instructions published on September 9th, 2025. To participate in the competition, candidates must have a certified email address (PEC) or a digital address.

2,700 new tax experts

The new call for applications will see 2,700 graduates hired on permanent contracts to perform "highly specialized activities in tax matters. In addition to specific knowledge, new hires will be required to possess commitment, reliability, and aptitude for teamwork and problem-solving," according to the Italian Tax Authority. Specifically, the new officials will provide assistance and advice to taxpayers , and will also collaborate digitally in the management and delivery of services, analysis of tax violations, and audits and controls. They will also be responsible for litigation and collection activities.

Lombardy and Lazio at the top

Of the 2,700 positions, 555 will be assigned to the Lombardy Regional Directorate, 463 will be divided between the Lazio Department and the central offices, while 222 will be assigned to the Campania Regional Directorate. Next in line are the Puglia and Sicily Departments, which will each have 165 new hires, and Emilia-Romagna, which will be assigned 160 new recruits. The full regional distribution of positions is detailed in the announcement, as are the required qualifications. Those with a qualification obtained abroad, or a foreign qualification obtained in Italy, recognized as equivalent to one of the required degrees, are also eligible to participate in the selection process.
