Road haulage in Friuli Venezia Giulia: safety and innovation at the heart of discussions between Confartigianato and the Italian State Police.

Confartigianato Fvg truck drivers are increasingly active in promoting road safety and full compliance with all regulations governing the sector. It is in this spirit that Confartigianato Trasporti Fvg, coordinated by category leader Stefano Adami, organized a technical-informative event for all companies in the sector, with the participation of the Italian State Police and VDO-Continental, the German leader in safe and intelligent solutions for transport vehicles.

The discussion focused on the new smart tachograph, its proper use, and all the new provisions of the Highway Code. Thanks to the contributions of Gianluca Romiti, Senior Director of the State Police and Director of the Trieste Highway Police Section, and Alessio Sitran, Head of Institutional Relations for Continental-VDO in Italy, companies were able to receive useful information regarding upcoming deadlines and the procedures to follow to avoid administrative fines in the event of checks.

"This meeting inaugurated a series of periodic meetings that Confartigianato Fvg will organize to keep member companies updated on evolving regulations in the sector," explains Adami, category leader. "These are increasingly stringent regulations and require ongoing and timely training." Therefore, direct contact between companies and two key stakeholders in their operations—technology manufacturers and the police force, which monitors compliance—is essential. Indeed, Adami continues, "Commander Romiti and expert Sitran then answered the many pointed questions that fueled the discussion following the presentations."

Present at the meeting was Confartigianato FVG President Graziano Tilatti, who reiterated the importance of the road transport sector, "essential for everyone," and of collaboration between private and institutional stakeholders for the benefit of the entire regional community.

The next meeting will be held in the fall.
