District Tournament: Bagnolo lifts the trophy for the sixth time

Montemurlo (Prato), July 23, 2025 – A brace from Elia Ruscillo and Alessandro Ferroni allowed Rione Bagnolo to defeat Rione Fornacelle 2-0, securing the cup for the first time in thirteen years. This was the verdict of the Montemurlo District Tournament final, which took place last night at the Nelli di Oste stadium. Over a thousand spectators watched the final match of the tournament, and in recent days, Christian Kouamè, the Fiorentina striker who calls Montemurlo home, was also seen in the stands. The final cheers went to the Bagnolo amateur players, marking the team's sixth victory in the competition. "We want to recognize and highlight the work done by the Montemurlo District Committee, in the interest of an event that grows year after year and succeeds in attracting and engaging ever more people," commented Montemurlo Mayor Simone Calamai and Sports Councilor Valentina Vespi, who presented the winners with awards. "Congratulations to Rione Bagnolo, who won this thirty-fourth edition. And congratulations to all the other teams who performed well on the Nelli field."
