Five provincial titles for children and young people of Alga Atletica Arezzo

Arezzo, June 10, 2025 – Five provincial titles for children and young people of Alga Atletica Arezzo . The young promises of the Arezzo company took to the track in Montevarchi at the provincial championships in the categories from Beginners to Cadets where they competed in various speed, jump and throw specialties, managing to celebrate a good palmares of nine medals with five golds, two silvers and two bronzes.
A special mention goes to Mattia Falciani of 2012 who, among the boys, managed to graduate as provincial champion in two events by virtue of the first places in the 60 hurdles with 9.48 seconds and in the long jump with 5.25 meters.
The joy of climbing onto the top step of the podium was also experienced by Agnese Marraghini, born in 2011 among the Cadettes, who triumphed in the 1,000 meters with 3:48.56 minutes, then two children from the Esordienti A returned among the protagonists: Leonardo Mencacci, born in 2014 (first in the long jump with 4.02 meters and second in the 600 meters with 2:03.00 minutes) and Samuel Basso, born in 2015 (first in the 600 meters with 2:02.50 minutes and third in the long jump with 3.56 meters).
The list of Alga Atletica Arezzo medalists is completed, in the Cadets, by Gabriele Corbelli, born in 2011, who came in second in the 80m dash with 10.48 seconds, and by Anna Bigiarini, born in 2010, who finished in third place in the long jump with 4.78 metres.
The provincial championships were enriched by biathlon competitions also for the youngest of the Esordienti B and Esordienti C where the Arezzo club recorded a first place with Frida Menci of 2018, a second place with Leonardo Del Gamba of 2018 and a third place with Bianca Marraghini of 2016.
An experience at a national level, in the meantime, was lived by six boys trained or raised by Alga Atletica Arezzo who wore the Atletica Firenze Marathon jersey to compete in the “Gold” final of the Under23 Track Championships in Rieti. The best result was achieved by Federico Rubechini in 2004 with third place in the high jump with 1.97 meters, also positive was the performance of Nicholas Gavagni in 2006 who achieved fourth place in the long jump with 7.09 meters despite having completed only three jumps out of six available due to a slight injury.
The latter athlete also contributed to the fourth place in the 4x100 relay with 41.42 seconds, then in the sprint there were also Lorenza De Silva of 2007 (sixth in the 400m with a personal best of 58.75 seconds), Riccardo Cincinelli of 2005 (seventh in the 110m hurdles with 15.57 seconds), Lorenzo Fazzi of 2006 (eleventh in the 400m with 53.81 seconds) and Matteo Bernardini of 2007 (eleventh in the 200m with 22.68 seconds).
The placings of the Arezzo athletes contributed to the eighth national places achieved by Atletica Firenze Marathon in both the men's and women's rankings drawn up at the end of the day of the Under23 Society Championships where the performances of all the athletes present were considered.
