Spalletti sacked and Ranieri refuses, who will be the new national team coach

Luciano Spalletti has been relieved of his duties as coach of the Italian national football team and immediately after this choice, a waltz of names began to emerge to replace him; until a few hours ago, the strongest candidate was Claudio Ranieri, but he declined the offer.

After Ranieri's no, who are the candidates?

Claudio Ranieri said no to the national team although he considered the decision taken as a real honor, continuing to play the role of consultant for Roma which led to the qualification for the Europa League at the end of the championship.

At this point the possible choices veer towards coaches who have medium-level experience in professionalism . The first choice was initially Stefano Pioli who has finished his adventure at Al Nassr and is having contacts with Fiorentina, therefore thinking of returning to Italy.

With Pioli offside, the choices are therefore limited to three coaches : Fabio Cannavaro, Daniele De Rossi and Rino Gattuso.

The favourite now is Gattuso

Considering the experience of the three former footballers, world champions in 2006, the one with the most experience in difficult contexts , sportingly speaking, is Rino Gattuso who is in fact gaining consensus within the FIGC .

At the moment, however, there are no rumours of contact with the former AC Milan player , but there is time to start negotiations given that Italy's next match is scheduled for 5 September against Estonia .

Surely the CT issue of the national team will be resolved in a few weeks so as to discover what new course the Italian team will take, which despite the victory against Moldova has really not been very convincing in terms of play.
