Udinese at the center of interest of US funds, but for now no sale

Juventus-Udinese of May 18, 2025 ANSA/ALESSANDRO DI MARCO

Udinese has long been the focus of interest from funds and investors in the American sports business world. On Saturday afternoon, the news broke, anticipated by Tgr Rai Fvg, of the sale of the Friulian club by the Pozzo family for a sum of around 150 million euros to a fund based in the United States.

Il Sole 24 Ore has however verified in sources close to the Friulian company that no sale of shares has been formalized at the moment. The club's top management interviewed by Ansa did not want to comment on the news.

The Pozzo family club represents one of the jewels of Italian football, with its own stadium, a roster of young players with high growth potential and a solid economic-financial situation. Elements that make it particularly attractive to foreign investors. The Pozzo family also owns Watford, which currently plays in the Championship, the second division of the English championship.
