Marta H. is a key witness in the case of the murder of Fabian Zydor. That is why the court decided to make a surprising move

Fabian Zydor disappeared on the night of October 30-31, 2016. He was last seen at a party in the Pyzdry commune. Investigators are convinced that the boy was the victim of murder. In the indictment, they even described in detail how it happened. The problem is that despite a large-scale search, the body of the 17-year-old was never found. The indictment mentions murder with particular cruelty. The perpetrators are 40-year-old Łukasz B. and 31-year-old Jan K. and Radosław M. The motive was supposedly a debt for drugs.

Marta H., 32, was summoned to court because she allegedly saw the moment of Fabian Zydor's murder. The importance of this testimony is evidenced by the fact that it was given in a separate room using image and sound transmission. According to PAP, the court found that Marta H. giving testimony in the presence of the accused "could have an embarrassing effect". The defense attorneys protested against such a procedure. However, the court did not accept their motions.

The witness testified on Monday that on the night of the murder, she went to the area of ​​the bridge in Pyzdry to get drugs that an acquaintance had allegedly given her. At the scene, she found the accused, as well as a woman she did not know. She stated that Radosław M., upon seeing her, allegedly forced her to stay where she was. According to the testimony of Marta H. quoted by PAP, together with two other men, he then pulled out of the car a boy with a bag over his head, who they then pushed around. At one point, the boy allegedly fell and the men started beating him. In addition, Radosław M., according to the testimony of Marta H., allegedly stood with his entire body weight on the head of the man lying on the ground.

According to the woman's testimony, the accused then allegedly removed the bag from the victim's head and declared that he was dead. At that moment, Marta H. allegedly saw the face of the boy, whom she later recognized as Fabian Zydor after the disappearance case was made public. As the 32-year-old testified, the men removed the clothes from the 17-year-old's body and burned them, and put the body in a zipped bag along with heavy items. They then wrapped the bag in foil and threw it into the Warta River.

PAP reports that Marta H. testified that she returned home after all this. Łukasz B. came to visit her at night, who allegedly threatened her not to tell anyone what she had seen. Investigators became interested in her after she posted a comment on the social media profile of a detective investigating the disappearance of Fabian Zydor. "It's logical what happened to him. It's sad, but true," she wrote at the time.

The court will have to decide whether the statements given in court are credible. Marta H. had previously changed them. During the first hearing in 2020, she denied having any knowledge of the fate of Fabian Zydor. Two years later, she stated that she had not told the truth because she "feared for her life and health."

According to Marta H.'s testimony, the reason for Fabian Zydor's murder was drug debts. Łukasz B. allegedly told her this a few weeks after the murder.

According to PAP, Marta H.'s Monday testimony in court was interrupted several times due to the woman's reported poor health. Ultimately, it was not completed. The witness's free speech phase has ended. Marta H. is to answer questions from the parties at the next hearings in June.

The accused men face life imprisonment.
