They want to regain the historic buildings in Łasztownia for the city

Councillors of the OK Polska club will submit a project at the next session of the city council, on the basis of which they will seek to recover the buildings in Łasztownia.

The councillors want the representatives of the State Treasury to municipalise the facilities that are currently managed by the Gryf Nieruchomości company. These are the former industrial buildings located next to the Old Slaughterhouse at Gryfitów Square.

- Since 2023, we have a spatial development plan that provides for multifunctional downtown development in this area, and in these buildings that stand behind us, center-forming and city-wide services - explained councilor Piotr Kęsik. - The nature of these facilities is to serve the residents of Szczecin. It is to be something that we will be proud of and that we will use as all citizens of the city of Szczecin.

The councilor emphasized that his appeal is addressed to members of parliament from the Szczecin region, in particular those who are representatives of the State Treasury, such as Minister Arkadiusz Marchewka and others who, in the councilor's opinion, certainly have an influence on this decision.

Councillor Renata Łażewska added that efforts to recover the historic buildings have been ongoing for 18 years.

- It looked different. At the beginning of each term of the new Sejm, there was information that the matter was open, it could be implemented, but we did not see the end - she said during a meeting with journalists. - And we hope that now, when this economic situation for Szczecin is good, in terms of parliamentarians, they will help and we will be able to revitalize these historic buildings here, in Łasztownia, following the example of Stara Rzeźnia or Cielętnik and locate the heart of our city here. It already beats here during large mass events, which we organize on the occasion of very different celebrations, but let it beat even stronger and in beautiful surroundings.
