Grzegorz Krychowiak returns to Poland. The transfer hit of this summer

"Krycha" is a very characteristic figure, strongly associated with the great period when the Polish national team reached the quarter-finals of the tournament during Euro 2016. Grzegorz Krychowiak was one of the key figures of that national team, led at that time by coach Adam Nawałka.
Grzegorz Krychowiak to play in Poland? Surprising direction of "Krychy"Interestingly, although the midfielder started playing in the country's junior teams, Krychowiak never appeared in a Polish club in this senior version. As a senior, he took his first steps in the ranks of Girondins Bordeaux. He was associated with France, and so it is, for many years.
The Pole was the hero of a high-profile transfer right after the aforementioned, extremely successful European Championship for Poland. In the summer of 2016, Krychowiak was bought by Paris Saint-Germain for 30 million euros. The Parisians brought "Krycha" from Sevilla, in whose colours the Pole achieved two triumphs in the UEFA Europa League (2015 and 2016).
Years pass, however, and Krychowiak is currently 35 years old and without a club after parting ways with Cypriot Anorthosis Famagusta. As reported by Katowice's "Sport", the former Polish representative has found himself in the circle of interest of the newcomer from the PKO BP Ekstraklasa backroom, Wieczysta Kraków. The club, which won the promotion play-offs and is starting to arm itself before conquering the next level on the way to the desired, national elite.
Is Krychowiak's transfer to the first league realistic? Wieczysta Kraków can certainly count on a large budget for such high-profile moves. And this is thanks to Wojciech Kwiecień, the owner of the club, who is the owner of the "Słoneczna" chain of pharmacies. Krychowiak's representative teammate from the 2016 European Championships, defender Michał Pazdan, plays for the Kraków team. And until recently, the coach was another former representative, Sławomir Peszko.
As you can see, there are definitely opportunities to bring in big names. The question is whether Krychowiak will actually want to play in the top league. Interestingly, Wisła Kraków has been playing in the first league for several seasons. So the derby of the capital of Lesser Poland is shaping up to be extremely interesting. Remembering that Cracovia is one floor higher, looking at the league levels. In whose line-up - how else - is another big figure from the former team under coach Nawałka - defender Kamil Glik . From the memorable duo he created with the aforementioned Pazdan.
As you can see, football Kraków attracts famous, former representatives. Let's remember that Jakub Błaszczykowski ended his career in Wisła over two years ago.
