The Polish coach took a risk and undertook a difficult mission. He was afraid of the fans' reaction

Chemik entered the 2024/2025 season with the intention of remaining in the Tauron League. However, many fans, experts and journalists predicted that the titled club, due to its non-sporting problems, would be forced to fight to be or not to be in the elite. The worst-case scenario even assumed the position of an outsider and a red lantern.

However, this did not happen. Quite the opposite. Chemik, although far from its best years, did not stand out from the rest of the teams and in each match strove to cause a surprise. Ultimately, the volleyball players from Police took eighth place after the regular round with a balance of eight wins and 14 losses. In turn, in the play-off phase they defeated Stal Mielec in the competition for seventh place, which should be considered a positive result.

- There were many helmsmen in this club. I was responsible for this sporting aspect. This season was exceptional for the club because of the relationships that were created - how we all built this season in common faith. It was something incredible, how the fans, our partners, how the board, the staff and, above all, the players united. It was a mission that we undertook together and which ended in success. We did not look at the places, because for us, each week of fighting brought many positive emotions - admitted Michor, who received the "Discovery of the Season" award at the 25th Anniversary of PLS ​​Gala for his work.

The young coach had a difficult task, as he joined a club that had recently dominated the Polish women's volleyball scene and had been winning the most valuable trophies on a regular basis. There were therefore concerns that many fans, spoiled by success, would turn away from the team or look at the work of Michor and his players with sarcasm. The truth turned out to be completely different.

- I have to thank the fans, because before this season, when I took on this challenge, I thought it could be tough, because the fans were used to successes for years, and this season it was hard to win every time. And we were so supported regardless of the results, that thanks to this support, it was an easy job - said Chemik's guardian.
