The Russian couldn't help herself. The Pole made her furious!

There is no hiding the fact that the favorite in Monday's match was Mirra Andreyeva. Considered one of the greatest talents of recent years in women's tennis, the tennis player has already charmed with her performances on courts all over the world several times. The situation was different during her performance in Berlin (WTA 500). The Russian, seeded 6th, lost in the first round to Magdalena Fręch 6:2, 5:7, 0:6.
WTA 500 Berlin: Magdalena Fręch triumphs over Mirra Andreeva!Paradoxically, although the player from Łódź lost the first set 2:6, the Pole started by breaking her opponent. In the third game, Fręch managed to find a way to beat the 18-year-old Russian, taking the lead to 2:1. And as it turned out, it was… the last game won by Fręch. It seems that the key was the return break (2:2), which Andreyeva won after a dozen or so minutes of tough advantage play.
Fręch, after losing five games in a row (!), got back on track in the second set, starting with another break (1:0) of the WTA's seventh-ranked player's serve. The Pole even had a 4:1 lead (double break), but eventually let it go to 5:5. However, Fręch endured the nervous ending better, first breaking and then closing the set to 7:5. This caused fury on the young player's side. She expressed it, for example, by... shooting the ball far outside the court.
There was also no shortage of shouting and racket strikes. Andreyeva's moments of fury are certainly something she needs to work on in her future career. Ultimately, the set number 3 she lost, very clearly, 0:6, was the first such experience for the Russian.
Andreyeva lost the third set in 28 minutes. Fręch was merciless to her opponent. After the last point, the Russian congratulated the Pole, then pushed away the camera lens with her racket, showing her displeased face.
Fręch, however, has reason to be pleased. The Pole played the Russian for the third time this season and it was in Berlin that she recorded her first victory over this opponent. Who will be the Pole's next opponent? The winner of Tuesday's first round match between Amanda Anisimova (USA) and Bianca Andreescu (Canada).
The favorite is the first of the above-mentioned, currently number 13 in the WTA rankings.
