Collision between car and motorcycle leaves one seriously injured in VRSA
A man was seriously injured following a collision between a motorcycle and a light vehicle, which occurred yesterday in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António ( VRSA ).
According to the Algarve Regional Command of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, the accident occurred at 11 am, in the Hortas area, in Monte Gordo.
The collision between the motorcycle and the light passenger vehicle resulted in serious injuries to the 65-year-old motorcyclist.
Given the severity of the injuries, a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) was called to transport the motorcycle driver to a hospital.
According to the source, the causes of the accident are unknown and are being investigated by the police authorities.
The rescue operations involved a total of 21 Civil Protection elements, supported by six vehicles and one aircraft.
