Trump asks the US government to open a trade investigation against Brazil

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has opened a trade investigation against Brazil following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump. The announcement was made in an official document released this Tuesday, the 15th.

"At President Trump's direction, I am initiating a Section 301 investigation into Brazil's attacks on American social media companies, as well as other unfair trade practices that harm American businesses, workers, farmers, and technology innovators," said Ambassador Jamieson Greer, the U.S. Trade Representative.
