Pau Martí wins the second stage in Fafe and takes the lead in the overall standings

Spanish cyclist Pau Martí (Israel Premier Tech Academy) won the second stage of the Tour of Portugal today, arriving in Fafe, also taking the lead in the overall classification.
Martí, 20 years old, completed the 167.9 kilometers between Felgueiras and Fafe in 4:00.33 hours, beating in a restricted sprint the Russian Artem Nych (Anicolor-Tien21), second, and the Colombian Jesús Peña (AP Hotels&Resorts-Tavira-Farense), third, both arriving with the same time as the winner.
In the overall standings, the winner of this year's edition of the Peace Race, and third in the 2024 Under-23 Giro d'Italia, is the new leader, now with a two-second advantage over Nych, champion in 2024, in second place, and 15 seconds over the previous leader Rafael Reis (Anicolor-Tien21), in third place.
On Saturday, the third stage will connect Boticas to Bragança, over 185.2 kilometers, with four mountain passes, one of them first category, in Serra da Nogueira, at kilometer 146.8, after Alturas do Barroso (3rd, 15.7 km), Serra do Brunheiro (2nd, 87.1) and Rebordelo (3rd, 112.8).
