Man who received Russian citizenship arrested for attempting to join ISIS

A Moscow court has remanded a man who recently received Russian citizenship into custody for attempting to join the ranks ofthe Islamic State (IS, ISIS, a terrorist organization banned in Russia) , RIA Novosti reports.

According to the source, Shakhboz Davlatov is accused of a crime under the article on attempted participation in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist in Russia. The investigation petitioned for his arrest, arguing that the man could otherwise maintain and coordinate communications with other members of ISIS.

Earlier it was reported that the court sentenced two ISIS members to 17 and 18 years for an attempted bombing in Pyatigorsk .
