Russia Increases Fish Imports from One Country

Russia doubled its fish purchases from Turkey in April compared to the same period in 2024, RIA Novosti calculated.

According to the Turkish statistical service, the total volume of seafood exports from Turkey to the Russian Federation, which mainly consists of fish, amounted to $25.3 million in April. The figure is 2.2 times higher than in April last year. However, in monthly terms, deliveries decreased by a quarter.

Russia bought most of all fresh or chilled fish from Turkey - for 16.2 million dollars: trout (13.7 million), sea bass (1.3 million), sea bream (1.2 million), etc.

Frozen fish was also supplied, worth $8.7 million, as well as fish fillets, meat and minced meat, worth $302 thousand.
