The Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted a presentation of the book “Russia Begins Here… A Creative Guide to the Novgorod Region” by poet, writer and traveler Sergei Burykin. In total, over 240 musical instruments and elements of traditional clothing of the peoples of the world are presented. Among the exhibits are Russian gusli, Chinese guqin, Egyptian rebab, Greek cithara and many other unique instruments.

"A beautiful and informative exhibition. All the artifacts were collected during travels around the world, and the result of immersion in the culture of the Novgorod region was the book by Sergei Burykin "Russia Begins Here... A Creative Guide to the Novgorod Region", the presentation of which took place here," shared her impressions Elena KIRILOVA, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novgorod Region, who visited the exhibition.

For reference: Sergey Burykin is a Russian poet, laureate of the national literary prize “Writer of the Year” in the “Real Stories” category, member of the Russian Union of Writers and the Russian Geographical Society, creative traveler and philanthropist.

The writer is inspired by travels, the result of which are poems. The main feature of the Novgorod guide is the artistic, partly even poetic style. As the author notes, the publication is primarily intended for Novgorodians, not tourists - the guide is designed to inspire the reader to learn about his native land. Copies of the book are planned to be given free of charge to schools and other libraries of Veliky Novgorod.

As for the exhibition, it will run until September, admission is free.
