The prosecutor has taken control of the restoration of electricity supply to the Novgorod region

The regional prosecutor's office, on behalf of the regional prosecutor Sergei Shvetsov, organized an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on electricity supply. It was established that in the evening of July 12, 2025, due to worsening weather conditions, there was a mass power outage in 477 settlements of the region, in which over 22 thousand people live. Currently, restoration work is underway with the involvement of 32 teams of power engineers. The regional prosecutor's office organized supervisory support for activities aimed at the timely elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster. An assessment will be made of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on electricity supply by the grid organization, including the timing of the elimination of accidents on the power supply networks. The progress of work until the complete restoration of electricity in the de-energized settlements is under the personal control of the regional prosecutor.
Meanwhile, the acting governor of the Novgorod region, Alexander Dronov, devoted two more posts to this topic:
" We continue to eliminate the consequences of a strong storm in the Novgorod region. There are already 24 thousand residents in 18 districts without power supply. We have increased the number of teams. 72 teams from the Novgorod branch of Rosseti North-West are on shift. 11 teams are working from Novgorodoblenergo. 77 units of equipment are involved. By the end of the day, we expect another 4 teams from other branches. I thank my colleagues from neighboring regions for their help ."
A little later he reported that 5 thousand residents had already been “ connected to electricity. As of 12:00, electricity supply was disconnected in 18 districts of 485 settlements, in which 18.9 thousand residents live .”
