In Bashkiria, a man became a hero on social media when he saved a drowning bear cub in front of its mother, Telegram channel 112 reports.
The incident occurred at the Yumaguzinsky Reservoir when a female bear was swimming across the reservoir with her cub. At some point, the baby got tired and began to drown. Fortunately, he clung to the trunk of a fallen tree, but was unable to get out on his own.
Rustam Bulatov, a resident of the village of Kutushevo, came to the bear cub's aid; he happened to be nearby on his boat. He carefully pushed the log to the shore, while the bear cub showed no fear or aggression. The rescuer waited until he managed to bring the animal to shallow water, after which the bear cub was reunited with its nervous mother at the water's edge.
Previously, it was reported that the Himalayan bear cubs rescued in March were successfully undergoing rehabilitation in Primorye.
