If the credit institution was warned about a suspicious number and made a transfer, it returns the funds, and if it did not receive this information, then the telecom operator
Bankers propose sharing responsibility for the theft of money by telephone scammers with telecom operators, writes Kommersant.
If the bank was warned about a suspicious number and made a transfer, it returns the funds, and if it did not receive this information, then the telecom operator. Experts believe that this system should be tested with the largest players in the communications market and credit organizations. Otherwise, for small banks, this could become both a technological and financial problem.
The publication states that the banking community, together with the National Council of the Financial Market, sent a letter to the Ministry of Digital Development with their proposals regarding improving the interaction of credit institutions with telecom operators to combat fraud.
Bankers believe that operators should identify phone calls and messages from fraudsters and forward the information to banks, and the criteria by which they will be identified will be developed by the government.
