Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Fediyenko commented on reports that Ukraine had experienced a large-scale failure of the banking system, payments, and the Ukrainian electronic service for state services "Diya". According to him, this could be due to a problem in the operation of "a very large facility".
"From what I can see, a very large infrastructure facility is not working," he noted, adding that the facility served financial institutions, a postal carrier, etc.
The deputy recommended that Ukrainians go out into the city today with paper documents and cash.
"Nova Poshta" in Ukraine confirmed the failure of its services. This was explained by "difficulties on the contractor's side."
Ukrainians are reporting en masse on social networks that they cannot pay with a card in the metro, payment terminals are not working, there are problems with Google and Apple Pay, and payments via Nova Poshta are also not working.
There is no information yet on whether the failure could be connected with the night strikes in Ukraine. It was reported that after the strike in Kyiv, a fire broke out in the area of the Burevestnik plant, which produces radar systems. The authorities of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Kharkov, and Kirovograd region also reported strikes.
